Taste of Lighthouse Point 2013 planning is starting!!
The 9th Annual Taste of Lighthouse Point will be here before you know it and planning has already begun for the January 22, 2013 event. We are looking for volunteers to get involved and help us coordinate this year’s event. This is a great networking opportunity and a chance to work with fellow chamber members on our annual signature event. Last year over 450 people attended and 28 local restaurants participated. If you would like to be involved on the Taste event committee or the auction committee, please email taste@lhpchamber.com or call Mike McLain at (954) 946-6610.
If you are interested in sponsoring the Taste, please contact Charlie Davis, Beacon Light Jewelers, 954-942-9318 or Rene Turner Mahfood, Backus Turner International (The Light Magazine) at 954-727-9977 or rene@backusturner.com.
We are already looking for commitments for auction items big and small, so please let us know if you can donate to the auction. It’s great exposure to the local community and goes back into promoting the chamber to the local community. Please contact Kimberly Bean, Kim's Critters, at 561-542-9617 or 954-785-0355 or via email at islandgirl1438@aol.com.

Our last event was a smashing success thanks to event chairs Cynthia Tenberg and Lizann Brown and the Taste committee. We raised plenty of money for charity and business development and look forward to an amazing year with our members! Thank you to everyone who made the 8th annual Taste an amazing success!!

A check was also presented to chamber member Mary Griffin for $3200 to go towards continuing to rebuild Rachel’s Village in Haiti. In addition, the library received funding for language programs and the Lighthouse Point Fire Department received funds towards a new emergency vehicle that station was working on purchasing.
